They cancelled my partner's order saying there was a problem with the card and she should ring up to sort it out. When she rang up they said there was no problem with the card. Mixed up stories somewhere.

I think they have missed out on a promotional opportunity here. A code for free delivery is not really a great incentive to shop with them. I actually think their prices are quite good and there is a watch I would quite like. Had they issued a 10% off code or £5 and free delivery I would have been tempted to try them out. Not any more though.

If codes are issued to specific people then as a computer analyst I would not think it difficult to store who had been issued the codes and check this list against who placed the orders during the ordering process online. It would also be fare to assume that if you do not enter a customer number when ordering that you cannot have been issued the voucher in the first place.

Not impressed hubby had code sent to him, and had used it genuinly, just spoke to some plank at co, might us well have been in India, very dense, told me I would not get order, told her she would not get my business, order by hubby was for £300, me thinks they lost out. Can I bill them for wasting my time and inpying that Credit card company was at fault.

They've taken my money so surely they should have to fulfil the order?

Have they cancelled your order though? Maybe some people will get theirs. It will depend on their T&C's to some extent too.

    Yeah, b22!

To many people getting greedy and ordering below the quoted 40 pounds, so alarm bells started ringing so they cancelled the code.

I have to agree. How hard is it to stick to the rules!? This was a blindingly good offer which many people could benefit from, but others need to abuse it has left many people unhappy. I have been using MandM for years and am always very happy with the goods and speed of delivery. The fact that this code is more than likely a reward for customers who have previously ordered and spent money on their site and has now been pulled so nobody is happy, I can only feel dissapointed.

Don't blame it on the people...it's their own fault for allowing orders to go through with the code that are under £40. Besides, why didn't they just cancel the orders that were under £40, rather than penalising everyone?

I think it's the sheer volume of orders that has forced them to pull it, rather than anyone ordering goods that don't adhere to the code's requirements.
  • Thanks for the free delivery code, hope that one works, just placed my order, paid an extra £2.30 for next day delivery, just incase that one back fires too! hehehe

Hard to find on quidco totally missed it first time, hope I can still get the 3% ;-)
