Carers allowance

My dad is receiving carers allowance as he cares for my mum who is disabled, but now my dad is also of bad health and has applied for DLA, he has been told there is no way he will work again with his problems.
As this will mean that he is caring for mum, and in effect mum will be caring for dad, can they both claim carers allowance?

Yes , your parents will each be able to claim carers allowance for looking after each other . I know this for sure as my elderely great aunt and uncle get the benefit for each other.
