I've been nice to a cyclist (twice)

First time he was on the main road so I waited for him to struggle up the hill, then struggle along in front of me, so I pottered along behind him, staring at this tight lycra bobbing from side to side (not nice) until it was really really safe to pass, and give him loads of room so as not to upset the violent weave from side to side he was making as he threw himself on the pedals.
I turned right at the top of the hill, our village has loads of cars parked on the left, so I have to stop, then pass a few, pull in and stop for oncoming cars, pass a few more etc. All stop start, slow driving. The cyclist's following me, but quite a way behind.
So far so good.
I get to the stage where I now need to turn right into a single track road, nothing coming towards me, so I indicate right, stop just over the white line on the main road, because I've just passed parked cars and don't block the road for the cyclist coming up behind so I leave him several feet on the left, look up the road on the turning on the right, it's clear, so I start to roll, check the mirrors again, start to turn the wheel, lunatic cyclist passes on the right. I slam on the brakes, and don't run him over.
So, if I do see them I do stop, even if it ruins the theory of Darwinism.

I think you should give him a wide berth.

If it were a lady cyclist in lycra, I'd be following her behind at 10mph. :D

Wish all motorists were as considerate.

Today I was out on the pedals, came to a steep hill that I usually take my time on and occasionally push it up. Today I had no choice but to pedal all the way up as fast as possible as I could hear a car right up my a~~e!!!!

I sneaked a glance round and saw the motorist demonically staring at me, not even watching the road!! Well anyway made it to the top without having a heart attack, though was having some palpatations making it difficult to steer the bike, however thankfully demon eyes finally overtook so I could relax a little.

I saw demon eyes weaving in and out further down the road, and I reduced my speed to try to see if he would disapear into the horizon, but I got a bit worried as he always seemed to be going slow enough to keep me in sight. I was starting to freak out!!!

Next thing I know, he has stopped...RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD!!! Nothing for it I thought, need to make a quick dash to find solace and protection from this obvious madman in the form of a crowded place or police station (all this was out in a sleepy village/rural area).

Now there are cars parked to his left, no road to the right (just an overgrown track, prob just a walkers track) so I put the energy gained from my adrenalin to pass him as fast as possible, before he has the chance to exit his vehicle. Looked good to do so but he must have seen my intention, cause at the last minute he tried to knock me off the bike!!!

I have never been so shaken by a motorist when out on the bike, I mean following me for so long, staring at me, overtaking but not making progress and I guess he was planning on dragging me up the track into the woods!!! Who knows what for:eek:

kwaks - perhaps the motorist had been watching the film "Duel" and thought you were Dennis Weaver in the Plymouth Valiant and he was the driver of the Peterbilt tanker??
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

One of my favourite films, along with Mad Max (the first one).
