Unwanted satellite dish

BF and I have just moved into our first house, and it has a satellite dish. We have never had Sky or anything other than terrestrial channels, and I don't really want it there. BF would like to get digital one day but we won't be doing this yet. What do you advise I do about the dish? Is it worth hanging onto it? If not, how do I get it taken down, or can I do this myself (I don't have much of a head for heights!), and once down, do I just dispose of it or is there some value to it? Sorry if I sound dense, I don't have the first clue about things like this.

Unless it is really bothering you, why not leave it there? You could probably pick up a digibox for a few quid, which should enable you to get the free to air channels. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Its not worth much more than a £5.00, but to be fair most who do not want them in a new houses they move into as they find them ugly usualy put them up on freecycle someone is always glad of them.
If it does not bother you and you might want free to view sat in the future then just hold onto it like other posters have mentioned, word of advice unless you are and obsessive tv fan I would not touch sky pay tv with a barge poll.
It might be worth mentioning that you can also wire sky boxes to HI-FIs as you get an amazing amount of FREE Digital Radio stations, we use ours for that."Don't panic just chill out and smile"
