Zebra grass has lost its stripes!
Hope someone might shed some light on this one
Last year I bought a zebra grass (miscanthus something or the other), planted it in a really big pot and it did extremely well - I loved the horizontal stripes.
Anyway, I cut it back late-ish winter as instructed and it has started growing really well again but....the stripes have gone! It is just plain acidy green, attractive but not different like it should be.
Can anyone tell me why this would be? And can I do something to ensure that subsequent years growth will be stripey again?
Thanks very much

I may be wrong but I think the new growth is always plain green. It only gets its stripes as the leaves get older.0

Thanks Kay Peel and savemoney - it certainly had stripes when I grew it last year from a tiny plant but the link you gave me savemoney gives me hope that the stripes will return maybe like Kay says as the leaves get older or if not then next year if I treat it cruelly (Can't see me doing that!!!)
Thanks again0 -
Hope it returns for you
I like striped grasses myself got a couple but not Zebra grasss0
