Are you single, a lone parent or married?
There is an earnings disregard of between £5 and £20, and anything over that is deducted from your JSA.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Married and looking at about £30 per morning - thanks0

If part of a joint claim, you will have a £10 disregard.
If you are only claiming for yourself, you will have a £5 disregard.
The disregard is per week, not per shift.Gone ... or have I?0 -
so if I get £60 a week its not worth claiming JSA? - thanks0

Its still worth claiming as it can affect your passport to other benefits (eg free prescriptions). Even if you only get £10 a week JSA, so long as its income based rather than contributions, it can still help in other areas while youre looking for full time work0

Whatever you do if offered by the employer dont work over the 16 hours in any one week, they will close your claim there and then. You would then have to go home pick up the phone and make a rapid reclaim.0

....unless of course its because you have been given permanent full time hours, in which case take them!0 -

Most Benefit Offices (Benefit Delivery Centres) actually average-out Part-Time Work as to reduce instances of this happening. They usually average the hours worked over a 5 week period. If you do Part-Time Work, keep an eye on the calculations of the benefit that you are getting, as if your hours fluctuate, you can be under/over paid.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
