Question on renting

Just a quick and hopfully easy question
My partner has given up his job (btw he was happy to and has about 10k in savings) so that we can move closer to my work place. This is saving me about £175 p/m in travel.
I am looking to rent a new place and could afford about 675 on my salary alone going on rent x 30 that most LA ask for
My concern is would a LA be put off that one of us is not working?
I am guessing no a I am sure there are plenty of couples where the wife/husband is the 'HouseWife' but thought I'd ask
thanks

If you can afford the rent on your sole salary then there won't be a problem.
(Even if you couldn't afford the rent on your sole salary, there might not be a problem if your partner was prepared to use some of his £10k savings to pay a few months rent in advance. That isn't always a good idea, but if you do run into problems you could consider it).0 -
No, I doubt that if you can afford the rent on your salary alone it would be a problem. Presumably your OH will be looking for another job in any case so your situation may not remain the same for long0

I'd suggest you offer to pay six months rent up front to secure a property. This will reduce your partner's savings slightly in case you need to claim any means-tested benefits - be worth checking as your OH may be entitled to claim JSA, there are certain circumstances where you can give up your job and still claim.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Thanks for everything advice so far. I'll get him to check out the JSA as it's not gonna harm to ask surely.
He's planning on taking a break for 3 months but we've decided that he should work part-time as it's better for our relationship as currently we only have 1 days a week to spend together because of our work pattern
I think I'll try and get the LA to see if it's ok on my salary alone and if the LL/EA are concerned offer up the 6 months in advance.
TBH i think I am going to go round the 550 mark anyhow but we'll see.
Any other advice would be great.0 -
To be honest i cant see it being any of their business so long as you can prove to them that your wages will cover things - a lot of LA that i have dealt with also take into account council tax, tv license, a "guesstimate of what they reckon bills will be apparently just to make sure that you wont be short at the end of the month but as long as that is ok then it shouldn't matter.0
