What happens if I don't show up for a flight that's been booked with a friend

Hi,

I've just found out that my work needs me to be London on a Thursday, however, just this week I booked a flight with a friend to go down for the weekend on Friday night. I booked the tickets and put both of us on the ticket. I don't mind forfeiting my ticket as I get my new flight paid for me by work. However, can my friend still travel on the ticket that has been booked already under my debit card?

We're flying with BMI.

If it's an on-line/phone booking, sometimes they say you must produce the payment card at check-in, don't they? That would be a problem I imaginne.

There will be absolutely no problem. Check in online to alleviate any anxiety.
