Aqua CC Closure

in Credit cards
I have just closed my Aqua cc with a balance of 0 on it but i was worried about the trailing interest, so i asked the lady if there would be any trailing interest on the next statement. She had a look and said there was 43p to be put on, so i said fine can i make a payment now. she said yes fine. closed my account and put through to the payments dept. when the lady at the payments dept looked at how much it was she said its a minimal amount not worth taking payment for (43p) so she would write it off? i asked if it would affect my credit rating and she said no absolutley not and everything was fine. Do you think me not paying the 43p might show on my credit file?

Well I don't know - but if you pestered me for 43p I would tell you to go away and consider you to be a chav
I am aware that Halifax Credit cards have a call centre in Cardiff and that 43p may be a large sum of money to them therefore my advise would be to pay 43p and complain to the Obmbusman who has recenty introduced an 0800 number - so you can speak to a banklover at their own expense0 -

no, but you are coming out with rubbish. if it costs a lender 40p to take a payment its not worth it to them and is in their intrest to wipe it off and no it doesnt effect you.0

mmmmmmmmm toughy that ull most probably be looked at with the same passion and hatred as someone whos just went bankrupt..........i mean 43p is a SUBSTANTIAL DEBT......................honest...........

if in doubt contact ure local citizens advice beaureou, possible repercussions if u dont deal with this promptly could be a default, they may even DOUBLE URE DEBT, which could mean debt as high as 86p.........this could force u into having to make an arrangement to pay...................yeah its definetely a pickle.............0 -

Last time I had a really small balance on a Natwest card, I got my statement through and it said interest 40p, payment credit 40p, small balance write-off.
So basically Natwest just wrote off the balance as not worth bothering about.0 -
The OPs post is not a stupid question. People have been left with defaults because of a few quid trailing interest.
This however is a situation where it will be written off as it would cost more to take the payment than make it.
You should get a statement to that effect next month. If not, call again and put your mind at rest.0 -
