    Done.

Wish it was compulsory for 16-25 year old's too as I struggle to get people to come talk to the ones I work with about budgeting!

Just a big thanks to everyone who's done it - very relieved we've hit 20,000. Obviously the more we get the better so please don't stop - I've twittered and facebooked it this evening which has helped too. Thanks so much

Don't forget if you've got kids yourself you need to teach them at home too - so when an ad comes on for a company that says 'no nasty credit checks' look at the APR (normally at least 30%) and explain to your kids why some people could pay hundreds more for using that company because they didn't keep their credit record clean.

It also helps if you explain borrowing £1000 can easily turn into £1300 just for signing a slip of paper.

Once they realise how it all works they might understand why Mum and Dad are saving up for the big flash TV rather than buying it on tick.;)

Our DD is 11 and knows all about shopping around for the best deal, cashback credit cards, Tesco points, cashback sites, being mortgage free, saving up instead of borrowing and how to borrow wisely if it's an emergency. She also knows we wouldn't be able to go on our holidays if we didn't work for our money and spend it wisely all year long, as saving for a good holiday is a year round thing.

She was not taught any of it at school.

I did sign the petition though, because not everyone has parents who can handle money, some parents would benefit from their kids pointing them in the direction of MSE or similar.:)

Just highlighting the fact that this closes on Wednesday 26th May in case others don't notice it in the 'Ones Not To Miss' article on the far right of the page.

I thought this closed on Sunday (just gone) until I happened to notice about the extension.......................
