Can't send msg is this normal?

Transfered my o2 number (PAYG) to my 3 network (contract) and noticed the o2 sim card was inactive as had a message telling me on the screen of the phone with that sim card in.

Received a text message on my 3 network phone at 4:30pm telling me the transfer of my number would be complete in 24 hours.

Is this the reason why i cannot send text messages?

I can receive phone calls, make phone calls and receive text messages but when i replyt to them i get a message saying failed.

You need to change the message centre number in the phone to 3's, at the moment it's still trying to send them through o2.
All the setting live on the phone not the sim.

I'm with the 3 Network and currently cannot send any texts, I think there is something down with their network right now!!! Happens with 3 sometimes

My gf and me are both having the same issue with 3. Like Deeko has said it would appear to be the network.

Just had someone phone me to tell me they can't text using a 3 contract phone.

I can't see that it is the message centre number as that should be the settings for 3 as i of course got a 3 sim card and had a new # for awhile. That sim card now has o2 number assigned to it instead of the 3 one.

I'm having the same problem too. This is really frustrating - how long do you think it will take to resolve the issue?

Apparently they're "working to restore these services as soon as possible". Great.

Not that i wish anyone to have the same problem. But i can relax a bit knowing its nothing to do with switching my number over.

Though annoying as been waiting for my number to switch over so i can use my new ph properly.
