Moved to BG to get my meters switched....

is there any constraints on when I can now move to another company? Not sure what rates i'm on, waiting for the first few bills so I can get some info together. Just wondered if there is any constraints on me after having the pre pay meters removed and swapped to direct debit type meters?

Unless you have any exit fees in your T&Cs you can swap suppliers every 28 days.

Hi leg_end666 - Not sure from your post if you have already changed to BG from the supplier you inherited when you moved in, but there is nothing to stop you starting the Switch process within days of moving in

So far as getting your pre-pay meter changed to a credit meter, it all depends
There is likely to be a cost for this, but in any case the supplier will want run a credit check, and even if that seems satisfactory, they may still ask for an up-front deposit.

Sorry it was a bit unclear. I've moved to BG already, simply to get my meters changed for nothing. I now want to find the best possible deal which is unlikely to be British gas, but I was wondering if there would be anything tieing me to them after they have changed my meters. Don't want to move to save money and end up owing BG something for the meter changes!
