wishing my life away

It's payday on friday (early because of the bank holiday weekend) and I'm wishing the weeks way till payday so that I can make payments off the credit card! I feel :j when I pay £200 off at the beginning of the month, but then I have a downer waiting for the next payday for a "debt payment fix" :o

am I getting addicted to paying off my debt?:o

I understand how you feel leni, sometimes a month really drags.

I sometimes pay mine weekly online instead, so you get that buzz more often :D Could you join the 20p or £2 club and pay that off your balance in the middle of the month, perhaps try to do a bit extra every month to make it a challange. People have posted about this on the MFW board and some do it even if its a few pennies left in their purse, it all counts.

Well Ive got half a dozen credit cards and I pay them off throughout the month so Ive got the advantage of the debt going down all the time but the disadvantage of not knowing where I am as money is always going out of the bank account.

    Hi Leni!

I have exactly the same feeling every month. Every pay day I cannot wait for the payments to be made and then 2 weeks later I have usually fallen off the wagon, budget is in pieces and I get down. My credit card is 0% and so I only pay the minimum off each month and save up towards the balance (I will also get a bonus before the 0% finishes so hopefully I will be able to use that and keep my savings). The trouble is I want it gone now, not next May, but I know I am doing the sensible thing and MSE keeps me in check!

I don't understand - I dread the arrival of payment due dates. However, if that makes you happy - good luck.

    I'm exactly the same Leni!

I love payday, not because I have more money but because I can pay some more to the debt and update my spreadsheet.

For those who can't understand this perspective, its one month closer to Debt free day when its all over.

It's seeing that total fall further which keeps up going.

It's setting yourself goals and being disaplined enough to stick to them. Knowing that in x ammount of months (12 for us) we'll have an extra £500+ a month to either go into savings or enjoy the things we want to do in life without the guilt of it being someone elses money we're spending.

I've noticed I've got abit "round figured" and hate my debt to be £xx.35 - It's not got to be round figures, even when I paid £200 off last month and it was £3720 - the next day I paid an extra £20 to rounf it off :rotfl: :o
