Benefits for father in hospital

Hi
My father had a stroke 9 years ago that left him in a position where he gets a lower rate invalidity or something help. He is 83.
Recently he has had to go into hospital due to another illness ( 6 weeks ago ) and it looks like he might not get better. I wondered if I should have to notify anyone regarding him being in hospital.
Thanks

yes. anything over a 4 week stay has to be notified

you need to find out what benefits he is receiving and notify them.
  • he`s probably getting attendance allowance, all hospital stays of any duration should be reported when getting most benefits

If anyone receives carers allowance, this will stop too.
