Hope peeps don't mind me starting this weeks mealplan thread? I've just finished planning for this week and thought I may as well do it now before I forget. I did well sticking to the plan this week and it helped loads with the NSD's. ooh this is great - do you do a regular thread like this? (sorry, newbie here). I'm completely obsessive about food planning but I do sometimes run out of inspiration so it's great that other people are doing it :)
  • Yes, this is a weekly thread. Very good it is too - I'm a regular lurker on it. If you search the forum there are threads about monthly meal planning and a fairly recent (March-ish??) thread has a whole month's menus on it.

Thanks for starting the thread, Herbaholic. I have also worked out my plan, and here it is.

    Friday - salade nicoise
    Saturday - cantonese rice
Sunday - barbecue lunch for 13 peeps (!!!) but guests will bring contributions. Apart from the various meats, I will serve home-grown corn on the cob (freezer, last season), an aubergine/chick pea tian for the vegetarian, and cheesecake for afters. I'm also going to try the peaches in brandy I read in a recent post. Starter and salads will be brought along by others.
Monday - any leftovers, and a quinoa/crab salad
Tuesday - couscous with apricots and blue cheese, baby spinach salad and/or stir-fried broccoli
Wednesday - steaks (bbq'd if weather still nice), hm chips and salad
Thursday - fish dish, probably paella
Friday - egg and lentil curry
    Saturday - lemony meatball pasta
Sunday - roast chicken, or chicken salad depending on weather.

Enjoy a nice, sunny week, everyone!

Have been meal planning since last summer but somehow only just found this thread - thanks for the inspiration! Am losing weight at the moment so planning ahead helps the pennies and the lbs!

    Saturday - eating out
Sunday - Chicken & sausage gumbo (weight watchers recipe)
Monday - Squash & red onion pasta
Tuesday - Spanish Omelette and Salad
Wednesday - Chicken with polenta, cherry tomatoes, rosemary & garlic
Thursday - Prawn & Chorizo pasta
Friday... waiting for inspiration to strike! Maybe quiche and salad...

And for lunches, some salads, some sarnies, maybe some pitta & hummus.
    Have a good week

Quite an easy/vague one for me as i'm going away for a bit next week :)

Monday - away - had roasted vegetable, chickpea and couscous salad

Tuesday - away - had chicken in a chilli sauce with couscous then a MASSIVE chicken enchilada!

Wednesday - will have to decide on the day as won't be back 'til later so won't be able to take anything out the freezer! -recreated the chicken with chilli sauce from last night

Thursday - away - went to TGI Friday...mmm, I wish I had one nearer. Had chicken strips, breaded prawns and ribs for starter with JD sauce, then chicken with more JD sauce. Gorgeous!

Friday - [STRIKE]possibly going out for dinner with my sister. If not, something from the freezer; probably vegetable bake with something or stirfry[/STRIKE] had scampi, chips and peas at home...forgetting I am having cod tonight. Hmm.

Saturday - homemade cod goujons with chips and peas - changed chips to homemade garlic and chilli wedges and peas for salad! Oh, and made some lemon mayonnaise to go with it

Sunday - ham and leek cannelloni
