B&Q Doors

Just wondering whether anyone can help me.... A couple of weeks ago I bought some doors in B&Q when they were 75% off. I am now wondering whether I need to buy their units or can they be installed onto any unit?

Thanks for your help.

Are these the kitchen doors? I bought some of those, the hinges are in different places so I'm having to resite them. I also made a cardboard template to measure how far apart they had to go but used a plastic spacer to position the holes. Look for 'hinge jig' on ebay.

Got about 4 doors out of 14 left to do and though it's been hard work I'm very pleased with it so far!

Hi, sorry, yes kitchen door!!! I knew what I was talking about.

So it's not impossible but a pain in the butt. I haven't bought the units yet but I've seen MFI ones going cheap on ebay in all sizes and it could save me a small fortune if I get them from there.

Not sure what to do now!

Ah, so it's not just straight replacement on old units? I've no idea what the B&Q carcasses are like or how universal the door hinge spaces are, my units are 15/16 years old. It may be that modern units have a standard.

One thing I almost wish I had done was buy a new drawer unit, was a long couple of days getting the drawer fronts to fit properly.

Maybe I'll just stick with B&Q for all of it. Might try and get the plinth from somewhere else though, and the end panels... thats were the price bumps up. They never do half price on them!
