Unclaimed? another paypal query!

Hi
I've paid for an item this morning, and the hourglass symbol appeared next to the item in my ebay summary. I checked with my paypal account( which has more than enough funds in it) and the payment states ' unclaimed'. i looked in the help section, and it says the seller refused or didn't accept payment.
Does anyone know why this could happen?
paypal was the only method of payment this seller wanted.
i am confused!

it means either you or the seller have given the wrong email address/paypal account for payment, therefore the payment is in limbo. cancel it thru paypal & contact the seller - tell them the exact email address you tried to give the payment to & see what they say.

Or their account is not set up to accept CC payments. Contact seller before doing anything and find out what the problem is.0

I had this once, i didn't do anything, just waited a few days and then the seller picked up the payment. I thought it was due to them not signing into paypal after the auction ended, like they had waited a few days to collect the payment.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160

I agree with Hintza, it is likely the seller doesn't have a premier account. Leave payment where it is for the moment, and wait for seller to contact you. If you haven't heard anything in say 24 hours, send them a polite email asking them why your payment has not yet been accepted, and wait to see what they say.
Do not under any circumstances pay by any other means if the seller suggests it.

As a seller I have had to go into Paypal in the past and click on either Accept or Decline which had come up beside the buyers payment as they had paid by credit card. If they don't realise this it might be worth contacting them. It is few and far between but sometimes it does happen even if paid with funds that are sitting in your paypal account - thats happened to me aswell and the seller sent the stuff before they had even accepted the payment!!!"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

A premier or business account accepts all payments automatically, you never have to 'accept' a payment at all. I've been away for the weekend and came home to find about 22 items bought and paid for by paypal all of which was sitting in my paypal account and ready to draw out first thing this morning, I didn't have to accept anything.

My account is linked to a current bank account and my debit cared, plus there's funds in there from the things i sold recently,. I havent linked it to a credit card as i dont use one.
I have emailed the seller, and shall take the advice about cancelling if I don't hear from her in 1-2 days.
thank you for the advice!
