Oh! dear Martin. As a novice pillion passenger, your driver should have insisted that you held onto him (even if this wasn't macho enough for you). Two people on a bike should move in unison when leaning into a bend. With you flapping about on the back holding the rear bars there is a real danger of you mucking up the centre of balance of the bike. I speak from aweful experience when I took a "virgin" passenger on my bike. I leaned into the bend and he tried to correct the lean. The more I leaned the more he tried to stay upright. We escaped going through a fence by a sliver.0
