We our property up for sale which is a mixture of commercial & residential (primarily residential) We decided to take the property off the market mainly due to the failings of the Agent.
What I didn't spot in the small print off the contract was that they would charge us £50 for every advert they inserted & have now received a whooping bill.
The adverts were place in newspapers all over the place, a few close to where we live others in papers upto 50 miles away. We where never given any form of feed back or up date on where they spending OUR money. Obviously it didn't cost them anywhere near £50 per advert. It appears to me to be a dead easy way to make a load of money for nothing
I will certainly be asking for definitive proof that these ads were placed i.e. a copy of the paper showing the date, can I also ask to see how much they paid for the adverts
Or am I stuffed

I’d make a ‘reasonable offer’ against their bill, saying that otherwise I want to receive printed proof of every single ad being charged.
You should’ve read the small print though…0 -
What has changed since March ? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2335541

It may well have cost them £50 per advert. That's about as much as it costs to do a small classified these days.0
