Hello onandup, how about looking at one of those bike carriers that hang off the towbar or back of the car, maybe buy a 3 bike type so as to give the width needed for scooters. Regards gruggles.

We hired one from shopmobility to go away for a weekend and had the same problem that we fixed by buying two decking planks and cutting them to form a ramp and it costs less than a tenner and worked a treat to the point that the guy at shopmobility said he would reccomend this to other people.

    Hello again! :D

Sorry for the l o n g! delay everyone and thanks again for all your help, I have been meaning to report back on this ever since!

As someone suggested I was able to hire a scooter from my local shopmobility for 8 days £2 a day it was a 3 wheel rascal liteway quite sturdy, really easy to manouver, good legroom as I have quite long legs and reasonably comfortable to sit on - as mobility scooters go! ;) Bit bumpy along some of the off road coastal paths - but I probably shouldn't have really gone down there on it anyway!! :p

In the end we hired a Citroen Berlingo Multispace that had a ramp etc. built in which was about £220 for a week  although that is quite cheap as things go but not very Mse!

It was great to get away but still quite stressful for both mum and myself getting the scooter up and down the ramp securing it in the berlingo etc. every time we went somewhere different. But realistically it was the easiest option we were going to get unless we got a big strong man to come and hawk the scooter about for us! ;)

Anyway thank again & best wishes to you all!
