Illegal to use your no claims bonus on more than one car???

I own two cars that are insured in my name. One which I insured back in October and one I bought and insured recently. I have one years no claims bonus and the insurer I used recently (Aviva) has asked for proof of this.
Because I am half way through the policy with the other insurer (Endsleigh) they have told me that their system will not allow them to send out confirmation of any no claims bonus - I have to wait til the policy ends or cancel the policy to get it, even if it is for a second car. They did, however, offer to confirm my no claims bonus over the phone with Aviva saying this was pretty standard practice.
So I called Aviva to tell them this and was told that I could not use my no claims bonus if it was already being used on another car. In fact, the woman told me that this was based on UK law.
This sounds a little crazy to me - I mean, if I haven't made a claim, I haven't made a claim. Is it right that it's illegal to use your no claims bonus on 2 vehicles???
Thanks

It's true. Whilst your NCB is being used on one car, it can't be used on another.
If you have full NCB and insure both cars with the same co they often can mirror your full NCB from car 1 to car 2 (usually for the first year only as an intro bonus)
Failing that car 2 has to start with 0 NCB and you have to build it up as you did for car 1.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
