Hi,
I've just upgraded mobile phone to an SPV M600, and I plan to put TomTom SatNav software on there. I'll need a GPS receiver for my phone but have no idea which one to get.
Any recommendations? I don't want to spend loads, but I want a decent one that won't keep losing reception etc.
Thanks!

I've the 12 channels ones, it works but not indoor or when there're too many buildings surrounding you (or when you're in the woods).. My friend has the 32 channels (HOLOX .. I guess a generic Chinese brand and not, its not Holux either) and it works great even inside the house. So, go get the one with 32 channels ones...0

He must have been near a window or somehow managed to change the laws of physics0 -
I have a Holux GPSlim 236 its fantastic I bought on for my sister who had it on the dash went round a corner with the window open andthe thing went through it. put the battery back in and the battery cover back on and it still works. I have bout the Holox ones for people in the past they work fine also but I wouldnt let them fly out of the window I dont think they will work after.
As for the m600 let us know how you get on a freind wants to know if Tom Tom will work on it, I've used the m1000 (now my sisters has this) the m500 and I just got the m3100 from orrange on a free upgrade. I think the m600 has windows mobile 5 on it as does my m3100 and the install doesnt work. it isnt a problem just run the cab files in the 2577 folder and the will install them selves.0 -

Well, I tested it myself inside my house in the living room, two meters from the nearest window .. the brand is Holox but the generic model is BT74R, exactly as the one in the URL below

My SIRF III receiver picks up a signal more than 3 meters from nearest window. The receiver needs to pick up a satelite transmission which is a em wave. Em waves can penetrate buildings. Do you use a mobile phone or radio in the house???
So what law of physics is that????"Success is not to be measured by the position someone has reached in life, but the obstacles he has overcome while trying to succeed." Booker T. Washington

I shall let you know how i get on. I think I might have to download a patch for TomTom so it works on the m600 (Windows Mobile 5 - as you said). Hopefully it won't be too difficult.0 -
I tried both methods of instalation on WM5 memory card and it just wouldnt run then I tried the install from the CD connected to the PC and again this also failed as the version of software onthe PDA was different.
so i tried other ways and it worked fine. by the installing the cab files manually fromt he memory card.0
