Hiya
Just come back from a lovely 4 star aparthotel in Cala Bona, Mallorca. It cost just £2 per night per person self catering! And that was booked direct with Thomson through their website!
The hotel is called Protour Apart Hotel Bonaire. Its a Thomson Kids Club Plus hotel and whilst I dont have any kids, the hotel was lovely for a break, has large pools, lots for the kids, entertainment etc. Really recommend it.
I asked the rep's why the prices were so low and they said Thomson have bought every room in the hotel this year but cannot occupy them due to recession, ash cloud etc etc. and thus are offering very low prices to get occupancy rates up.
So if you can get cheap flights, its worth going on the Thomson website and checking the price to this hotel!

Good tip, we stayed in Cap Salou, this time last year, £94 for the week, 4 of us in a 2 bed apartment, also from the Thomson web site. OK so double what you paid but coupled with some £2 flights from Ryanair and a week away at half term for £102 my best holiday bargain so far.0
