John Lewis - crepes need I say more?

1 large crepe with a scopp of strawberry ice cream, some strawberries - would estimate 10, some chocolate sauce and the offer of sugar and meringue - declined - price £5.95.

So the mark up was - well extortionate!

Put me off their restaurant for life.

  • If the prices are clearly displayed and there's no hidden extras I don't see how anyone can complain? If it's too expensive, eat elsewhere.

Hmm. Extortion = extraction of payment by force. So, I don't think so.

JL's restaurant is more expensive than (and generally better quality than) restaurants in other High Street stores. I too would balk at paying 6 quid for a crepe (even with sugar and meringue), but you can't deny that their prices are on clear display and it was your choice to buy!
