hi im wondering if you can help me.

i am currently retaking year two after being signed off sick the first time round. however im still sick but i am changing courses and unis so i have to start from yr 1 again.

although i only have one year left of loans the lea can offer me i have spoken to my su and they have said that i can get cpr years for this yr and the previous yr as i have had illness and personal problems. i have my two statements, two letters from uni, two letters from the doc and a letter from councelling. looking at the student loans regs it looks like they have to offer it but is there anyway they can turn down the cpr yrs? im really worried that i will have find two lots of tutition fees. i know i can get the maintence loan for both yrs its just the fees im worried about.

does it sound like they will reject the cpr requests or should i be ok? sorry im just really worried

Yes, it can be turned down, it's not an automatic right, and is at the discretion of the authority who process your application.

Were you awarded CPR for this current repeat?

no i wasnt awarded for this repeat year, the lady at the su told me thati have really strong evidence though so i am hoping it wil be ok...............

i have just found the info from the rules and regs.

183. where a student has failed a year for compelling personal reasons an additional year will need to be added to the current course and the cpr year taken as the repeat year. in these circumstances, if the student fails the repeat year and the LA/SLC determines the cpr critia have been met then a further cpr year may be awarded.

I'd maybe entertain one year of CPR, not sure I would two in this case.
