Withdrawing money from a Barclays branch

I have a Barclays bank account but the account is not held locally.
Do you know if I can go into one of their branches and write out a cheque for cash for 3k. I would of course have id and assume in this computer age they could be able to interrogate my account to check funds are available.

Yes, if you request a bankers draft (between £10 and £12) that is fine. I would take ID just in case. :)

Might make it even easier if you took some photo id, passport or something.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Think if you want that amount of cash from a branch you would need to phone them / your branch in advance to arrange it.

Regardless of which Barclays branch your account is held you can go to any other branch in the country and withdraw... well i've never had a problem anyway

Well thanks everyone for your input. I visited a Barclays branch today and advised when I wanted to withdraw the cash and the advisor just told me to bring cheque book, card and id. Also advised the cash will be ready for me on Monday.

Brilliant service and so very helpful.
