Hi all We are looking to sell our MINI as we are in need of a more dog friendly car. What are the most cost effective ways of selling a car? I know MINI sell really easily so dont really want to pay £40 to put it on autotrader. (also had a bad experience the last time i put a car on there with people from nigeria ringing and emailing me BIG SCAM)

Have had a look online but cant really seem to find any free ways of selling your car apart from the old sign in the car window trick :)

My guy rocked up to look at the car which hadn't moved for 12 months and my heart sank. He had a quick look round handed me the cash and said his man would be along in the afternoon to collect.

Was the easiest car sale I ever had......:)

Is it real Mini or the fake German one based on the Rover 200 chassis? :p

If it's a real one, it won't need much advertising (just find an owners club online) and it'll sell for a very good price.

If it's not then do the rear window sticker, put word around with your friends, saying something on Facebook, do an ad in the online Autotrader, etc etc.

'REAL MINI' = rusty death traps (I have had a few inc a 1275GT), no airbags, no abs, no traction control

'FAKE MINI' = what a MINI would be like now IF they had carried on making them.

It's like saying my old 1998 P plate Alfa Spider is 'less' of a car than a 1971 whaletail or graduate......

It doesn't matter, "real" does not mean safer, more refined, more user friendly.... It simply means "real" as in the original.

It's like saying that (for example) if Jaguar made a new E-type Jag, fitted with seatbelts, abs, TC, aircon, a CD/radio and modern tyre's is still an E-type Jag.
Instead it would be another rebadged Ford Mondeo with a new body shell.

It's like Rover calling the sporty looking Rover 200 an "MG", a crime in itself.

The original Mini is a classic, the new one will never reach that iconic status! those who appreciate classic cars, will say exactly the same.

I appreciate classic cars too but disagree (except for the MG Rover 200/400 disgraces...)
