Query re liquids in hand luggage with BA

I'm travelling to San Francisco mid July with BA (well, hopefully if the strike & volcano allow!) and I'm a bit worried about 'liquids' in hand luggage and hope someone will clarify for me.
The BA website says 'restrications on liquids, gels or paste' - now this may be a really silly question: Does that include creams? For example handcream or moisturiser? I would hate to try to take my expensive moisturiser or handcream in my hand luggage and then have it confiscated.
Thanks in advance

I would reckon that moisturiser and handcream come under the gel/paste category.
Check them in. Have a spare small one if you really need them en route0 -
PUt your good stuff in your case, and buy a little travelling kit from Boots.
I never used alot of stuff I took onboard in my flight bag, so it was added weight for me to lug around the airport.
I did take a fleece blanket though as one of my flights was a night time one and it gets cold, even though we were given blankets, my extra one wrapped round my back/shoulders was lovely and snug.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

They definitely count. The wording is:
"If you can pour it, pump it, squeeze it, spread it, smear it, spray it or spill it, it is considered a Liquid, Aerosol or Gel"
If they come in pots or tubes that are less than 100ml you can take them on in a ziplock bag (no bigger than 20cm x 20cm big), and with a maximum of 1000ml in there altogether.
But if the container holds more than 100ml you can't take it on, even if it contains less than a 100ml. For example, if you have a 200ml tube, with just a smidgen left in the bottom, they will still take the tube off you, even though there isn't 100ml of cream in there. You can't even take an empty water bottle through.0 -
Yes, these things are limited in hand luggage, not just with BA, but I believe with all airlines. I just visited Saudi Arabia via Bahrain with BA, flew out of Terminal 5 at Heathrow. Before secutiry, just after check in, there were boxes of Zip Lock type bags to put any liquids, gels or creams in. Pack your expensive things in your suitcase and go to Boots and get some travel size things to take in your hand luggage. They have a huge selection there

Have fun

I took my pashmina for exactly this reason, so glad I did too :-) and I recommend the socks too, meant i didnt get cold feet in the plane!!Barneysmom wrote: »I did take a fleece blanket though as one of my flights was a night time one and it gets cold, even though we were given blankets, my extra one wrapped round my back/shoulders was lovely and snug.0 -
I have just flown back from USA, and I would say prepare for your hand luggage to randomly checked at both the normal security, and also at the gate.0

And, having had a large new bottle of perfume stolen from a case (hold luggage) in the past I#d say if you use really expensive products maybe jut take enough decanted into a little pot in the regulation bag in your hand luggage too.0

Thanks for all your replies - now I know!! I'll do as suggested and just take a couple of travel things - the pashmina is a very good idea as I always get cold on flights and the socks too.
Many thanks
