Reliable website? Blue Nile

Hi, not sure if this is posted in the right section but we're looking at buying an engagement ring from the website Blue Nile and wanted to know if it was safe/reliable?

Any suggestions from somone who has used it?

Or tips on checking if it is safe?

Thanks

Theyre registered in the US and their ratings dont shout customer service, looks legit, just shoddily run so id avoid if it were me.

My fiance bought my engagement ring from Blue Nile. It's beautiful, and they were apparently very good. So based on that (I didn't do any of the dealing with them, he did it all himself) I would recommend them. :)

Obviously ratings wont speak for everyone but seeing as it has 20+ ratings for each category all averaging poor theyre perhaps not the best place to "gamble" your money.

    You could try this company:
    http://www.diamondgeezer.com/

There's some customer testimonials on there.

73 vote averaging reliable, looks like a much better option!

Well, people are typically more likely to shout about a bad experience than a good one. I can only go on our personal experience which was positive.

    Hmmm.
Any decent jeweller should be able to make a ring to anyone's design.

That's true of Blue Nile or Diamond Geezer - you could have just taken the design you liked and commissioned it elsewhere, so I'm not sure why that should have been a positive point for Madaboutdiamonds

Do Madaboutdiamonds guarantee that you won't be buying blood diamonds?

Too me, that post looks like SPAM, new poster and all....

    Hey!
Where did my post disappear to?

The one quoted by 4743hudsonj that said (in reply to the first time poster who was 'recommending' madaboutdiamonds)

    Hi,
Just bought an engagement ring myself, got mine from samarajames[dot]com] would recommend them and they have a link to some reviews which seem to be from genuine customers (I received an email asking for a review a couple of days ago) unfortunately can't post links yet but you can find them by searching samara james reviews and clicking the feefo link.

I did look into Blue Nile but had no dealings with them as found better reviews towards Samara James and wanted to be extra careful on this occasion.

    Hope this helps.

Yes it was my first post (gone now I see) and no they are nothing to do with me - but think what you like, I didn't even post a link which I see other people do. I only recommended you check them out, since I was happy with my purchase. Also I think seeing lots of different designs is really important. Anyway effort wasted.
