Assume so, it was posted on here by a well respected member. I just wondered, as it requires an initial outlay (albeit not a purchase), whether it would be considered acceptable.

I would say so as the magnum comp is ok... and even though its more than a quid I assume you can withdraw the money you deposit? or play it and get cashback??? are there any sites that offer it for tombola?

No, I don't think that it is allowed on here.

The Magnum comp is now in the weekly MSE email :confused::confused:

"Competitions thread of the week: Win up to £1,000,000 with a Magnum Pleasurecard"

Not sure how you win up to £1m though :D

Well, I think that shows that some purchase comps are allowed on the board then... So we def need this clarified further as it can't be just free to enter comps. Easy way to go is to use the text cost as a small purchase cost guide, which has been suggested throughout this thread by many fm. But the rules are saying otherwise atm.

Can a BG please bring this thread to the attention of whoever needs to see it please, as we have waited very patiently.

Is post 57 not clear enough?

I'm basically just re-iterating what Martin's said when he first set the board up, that where possible competitions should be entirely free to enter, but that some cost, such as a stamp, a postcard or a text are fine as obviously these can be done free eg if you have inclusive texts on your phone.

"some cost" in the past has been set as around £1.50 as a rule of thumb. It's a really grey area because for example, you could buy the McCoys crisps for that comp and a packet cost you 50p but a multipack would cost you over that but the unit price would still be under the 1.50 limit.

Nope, not really, as some small purchase comps are still get deleted, while others are staying.

When this is queried we get told that comps have to be free to enter or have a npn route. Its only the cost of a stamp, postcard or text that is allowed, not the cost of buying anything to allow entry. Yet the Magnum comp is now in email.

Lots of peeps on this thread have asked just for it to be clarified further re actual low cost product purchases.

Just found some examples, Tayto crisps comp deleted , McCoys Crisps comp was discussed, posted, deleted, then reposted, and stayed on. There was others similiar to these as well, think Gillette was deleted, but Lucozade stayed, etc.

    Kinda confusing I feel.

This is the first time I#ve seen this as well.

Giving something similar to a Kitemark is a good idea but it can't be called a Kitemark as per Phils post above.

It would help people decide whether to enter a particular comp or not.
If at first you don't succeed try, try, try again.
