Thinking of changing to Atlanitic for gas and electric. Has anyone done so and had a good/bad experience?

DONT DO IT
I changed to them for 1 month as a result of the USwitch website and a recommendation from Martin on this board. After I'd been with them for 1 month British Gas (who I was originally with) offered me a substantial discount and a free month if I went back to them. When I got the bill from Atlantic I couldnt believe it. They had charged me £88 for the Gas and £35 for the electric. Its usually more like £20 for electric and £13 for gas. I complained but didn't get anywhere. They are not cheap at all.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

I changed to them end of last year.Whilst the changeover was going through they announced their prices were going up.I had to ring them about something and mentioned this.I was promised that because i had applied before the rise they would give me £20 credit for each utility,ie £40 and true to their word, when the first bill came in ,they knocked £40 off.Since then they have put my direct debit up on the gas but not the electric. The only slight grumble is that they put me on a tariff with a standing charge, when i did apply for no standing charge but say i can change it if i want to.Checking on the comparison sites there is only a £1 difference anyway. The only thing i am unsure about is whether to come off the economy 7 as i only use about 25% overnight.
The sites all tell me that only Ebico is cheaper in my area,so i am happy with them.0 -
I have been with them for a few years now and have never had any problems - we had an extension put on the front of the house and the gas box needed to be moved; they arranged what they needed to do and everything went smoothly.
Last year they sent me a huge spring gas bill, higher than my winter bill, but they amended it immediately once i had phoned and told them the actual readings.
Would recommendBuy nothing for a month challenge - Oct

getting the annaul cashback has been increasingly difficult each year of last 3 - several calls and emails this year and still waiting - should have been paid in june - but actual prices are fair (less so if they don't pay the rebate)0
