Jacksons Tool Hire Laurencekirk

Firstly, I know that there are other tool hire companies called Jacksons. As far as I know, this one is an independent.

I have used quite a few hire companies and they range from average to incompetent. Power tools which break in the middle of a job and I'm expected to drive miles to their other branch as they dont have any spare ones. Staff who dont know what I'm referring to and prices which are ridiculous for virtually worn out machinery.

I first used Jacksons when I had a floor sander out on hire from another company. When I collected it, they had only 40 grit and 100 grit. Absolutely no use for a graded finish. I called Jackson's who told me they had a good range. I was buying them rather than sale or returning so was conscious not to spend too much. I needen't have worried as they were much much cheaper than the other company. On enquiring, I also found that the machine itself would have been cheaper to hire too.

The next dealings I had were to arrange hire of a mini digger. I told them that it was for the preperation of foundations for my log cabin. I was told the one I would need and again the price was much less than that of other quotes I got. Delivery was quite dear so I asked if I could collect it on a trailer. This, I was told was no problem. Realising my new car had no towbar, I called the next day to say that I wanted delivery but no collection as I would borrow another car for that. I got a bit worried when it arrived on the back of a lorry and not on a trailer. The driver told me they were short of trailers so they would only charge me delivery and not bother with a charge for collection.

My partner called them at 3pm one afternoon, after her company needed equipment at short notice and all other firms were saying she would need to set up an account. Jacksons asked the company name, on hearing it, he said "They're big enough, how about tomorrow morning for delivery?"

I have called them several times since and they are always knowlegable and willing to give advice on equipment, even if it is to advise me against a hire.

Recently, just about every company I have dealt with has been a chore for one reason or another so, what a refreshing change to find a friendly, accomodating, well priced company. I definately recommend :money:
