hi
does anybody know if i can claim a reduction in council tax i am a full time carer for elderly mum.
i live with my partner we are not married he works full time and helps me moneywise as i only have the £53 cares allowance

if your partners income is low enough you could claim ctb.0

You can only claim a carers disregard for council tax purposes if you are resident in the property with the person being cared for.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

Hi i am a full time carer to my disabled son he lives with me of course i was told i can claim carers council tax reduction because he lives in the same house as me, if your mum lives on her own you wont be able to claim the reduction, depending on your total income you still may get a discount anyway:AAutism isn't the end of the world just a journey to another one:A0
