Guys - I did a bit of reserach on this.
I finally went for a compro dvb 200 pci with remote (£31 delivered) - mainly because I know it is supported in Mediaportal and GBPVR but also you can use HIP to contol the remote thus you can use the RC in other applications than the software accompaning the card. HIP have since stopped supporting Kworld remotes.
I am STILL interested in one of these USB devices though - I need another cheap one and one for my mate - if you guys can get it working let us all knowCheers,

I have this kworld usb tuner KWorld DVB-T 310U Dongle USB2.0 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=366866 and although it was not supported by default for media-portal I was able to get it to work by following the unsupported bda device instructions, although I couldn't get it too work with gb-pvr. No garentee that this unit has the same drivers tho.I think....0
