benefit and resignation

hi,

i have resigned my job - the reason is that i want to relocate to south east or london area. currently i am in bristol. my wife wanted our family to relocate to london or south east area. she forced me to resign. i am actively seeking for job. i have paid enough national insurance contribution
for the last 6 years and i was paid (around 40,000 k per annum)

i know i am eligible to apply for housing benefit and council tax. apart from that is there any benefit i can apply for. i have one kid aged 4 years

i am currently getting 1.child beneft 2. child tax credit.

my question again.
1. what are the benefits i can apply for other than housing benefit, council tax
2.joblessness will increase my child tax credit?

Thank

You're utterly mad. You quit a £40,000 a year job in Bristol to go on benefits in London and because your wife 'forced you'??? If I were you, I'd go back to your job, and get rid of the wife.

What the h**l were you thinking?

And why do you think the state and taxpayer should support you because you quit your job voluntarily?

Does your wife have a job to go to?

I have to agree with bendix, to leave a job for no good reason is crazy. If you have no other household income and no capital over £6,000/ £16,000 you may apply for JSA, but you should expect your claim to be sanctioned. You can apply for a hardship payment, which will be approx £80 per week for a couple.

It looks like the OP was advised his claim would be sanctioned last month, and still went ahead. Crazy.

What's crazy is having welfare system that will pay OP a penny under the circumstances - whether it's hardship payments, HB/CTB or JSA in 6 months time. Cleggeron - !!!!!!, do something about this nonsense, before we peasants really revolt.

I don't agree with the hardship system either. Added to which they are moving to an even more expensive area, so there will be no inclination for the OP to take a minimum wage/ lower paid job as it is likely to be less than their benefit payments.

I agree with #2. Get the job back, ditch the wife.

Another vote for go back to the job and ditch the wife! Since when do men obey their wifes???

Since you voluntarily quit your job, I doubt you're entitled to any benefits at the moment.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Probably would have been sensible to sort this out before you quit.

What does your wife think you should do?

40K a year, and cant use capital letters?
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

How much thinking did you and your wife do before you decided to quit the 40k job. You should have got a job and a place to live in place before you quit, your not entitled to any jsa as you quit on your own accord,
