Live online auctions - do you buy on them?

Two of the auction centres I buy from are on i-bidder. One of them is well organised and the sales only take a little longer, the other is slow.
What puzzles me is the buyers. Are they regulars or just fresh faces every week? On electrical goods the prices have been pushed up to barmy levels.
One case in point - top up tv recorders. Six months ago I bought loads of them for about £15 each. Not one was usable, but the drives in them were worth double that at least. All are customer returns. This week we had quite a few on sale. The hammer price was double that plus 40% vat and commission. You could buy one on ebay for a tenner more.
For me, unless you can go and check these goods it is madness to buy them. One box I checked was supposed to be an expensive mitre saw. Turned out to be a food processor. Happens often.
My question is, do any of you do it - and like it?

Yes, although I only deal in surplus/clearance stuff not graded or returns. Goods are often not quite as advertised, either in spec or quanity, but sometimes in your favour, othertimes not. So far, so good.

Yes, I do it a lot and like it the most. According to me online auction is the best platform to buy and sell things. You can buy or sell almost anything and everything in online auction, but you need to have some knowledge about how things work there. You need not worry if the buyers are the regulars or fresh faces as long as you are doing good business. Trust me. Online auction is fun.
