Hi,
As the title says really. Lent my camera to a friend and have got it back plus two rather large scratches on the LCD viewfinder!! They are not deep e.g. I can't feel them when I feel the screen.
I was just wondering if anyone knew how to get rid of them? Is there anyway I can polish them out with a product? Would a T CUT style product work?
Camera is a Casio Exilim
I tried a glass cleaner sprayed onto a clean lint free cloth but that has just cleaned the screen.
I don't want to get into a morality maze about whether my friend should pay for repairs etc
They probably don't even know they have done it but because I look after things I do!
They don't affect any perfomance and can't really see them when camera is on, it is just that I would like to sell the camera and get a new one and I am guessing quite large screen scratches will detract from the price.
Any help or suggestions received with thanks.
Cheers

This is actually quite difficult to fix. Products like T-cut generally aren't abrasive enough, as they are intended for use on paint which is relatively soft.
The problem is that more abrasive products tend to make the plastic slightly cloudy. I've used jewellers rouge quite successfully on hardlex watch glass scratches - it seems to be just abrasive enough, though you do need to work on it for quite a while...0
