Car Leasing Advice (IRAMR)

I have recently got a new job as a sales account manager covering a large territory. The company does not provide a company car but uses the Inland Revenue Authorised Mileage Rate allowance. I do not own a car at present. Where do I stand with a private car lease for business use? Any advice would be appreciated

You are going to have a high mileage (most domestic/private leases are for 10k miles/annum) so you will have to get bespoke quotes for a lease and they won't be cheap.

Is the allowance generous enough? I haven't looked at it for a while but have the amounts changed in the last few years? Be careful OP this might cost you a fair bit of money.

As for private car lease you will just have to be insured correctly.
