Hi All i received a parking ticket for parking on a grass verge, there is a parking restriction on the road of a single yellow line. as non of my wheels were touching the road or indeed the pavement & i was not blocking or obstructing anyone, is this parking ticket still enforceable ? many thanks

On the face of it, yes as restrictions extend to the property boundary. However all is not lost, photo/copy/scan both sides of the ticket and host on tinypic. Copy the url and paste it into this thread. Then either leave a gap between http:// and the rest or leave http:// off completely. Photo's of the lines, signs, and how far the signs were away would all help.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Parking on the grass verge (and more especially the pavement) can be an offence in its own right regardless of any restrictions or otherwise on the road.0

It 'can' be, not 'must' be'.
Assuming it is part of the verge and not across the boundary.
Every case hinges on its own facts.0 -
applies to carriageway, pavement and verge. Not sure if it was on here but someone posted objecting to a ticket for parking on double yellow lines.
They said they were not parked on then they were 3 foot away or something away from the kerb.
Lucky it wasnt towed for causing an obstruction in that case.
Hope they made an error on the actual ticket.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
