Hello everyone!
I'm sorry if this question has been asked and answered before but I am getting mild palpitations about the fact my wedding is a little over 5 weeks away and we haven't got our marquee decorations sorted.
We were given a quote for the top table to be decorated with coloured drapes and the tables with co-ordinating coloured napkins and was shocked to hear she wanted nearly £1000 for it! NOT ON YOUR NELLY!
So, I am now after more cost effective ways of decorating the marquee. Do you have any ideas at all?
We are having 9 tables. I already have the vases sorted for those so just need ideas for the top table and everywhere in between really!.
We are getting all of our flowers from the local flower market. They have great stock and come highly recommended. They are also a fraction of what other florists have quoted us which is fab.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated before I keel over with the stress of it all!
Thanks so much in advance!.:)

Try your local haberdashery to see if you can get some nice materials to make table runners for your tables.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

post 20?
Do you think you will need anything other than the fresh flowers?0 -
Chiffon or tulle for drapes is available on ebay, napkins to match probably are too, are you having a colour scheme?
Also, how about lots of ivy - got any woodland nearby?0 -
ivy can cause an allergic skin reaction in some peops(even the unpoisoness type)
so maybe not a good idea to get fresh but i bet its cheap as chips on ebay or somewhere like that x
you could dig out you fairy lights from christmas and hang them up
small sets shouldnt cost much either
i think a candle sat on a nicely coloured(to match your colours) side dish would look nice tooI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -
Do you have an indian market near you or some indian shops? You can get some long decorated scarves quite cheaply as well as sari material (basically this is a really long scarf that they wrap around the body to make an outfit). Use that to drape across your tables etc - they can also be used as chair covers and you could then give the chair covers to your guests as wedding favors.0

WOW! Thank you all so much for your replies! You are all amazing.
Yes, I think I will try the market and will check the Indian sari shops near me. I think the idea of using that material as table runners is fantastic! So thank you for that.
My colours are Ivory, Silver (Grey) and Yellow to brighten it all up. I know it may sound awful but it all looks good I promise.
I am always on Ebay buying and selling so I will definatly check there to see if I can get a bargin.
Chair covers are also stupidly priced and I refuse to pay that much so maybe I will add ribbons made out of the material as suggested.
Thanks again, I can always rely on this forum to help. x
