It sounds like you know exactly what you want and have the drive to suceed so well done you as some of it I guess will definately be a labour of love.

Have you managed to find a good home for your £50 per month yet? More importantly has Mrs RM's face returned to normal yet :rotfl:

You'll need something at the windows to keep the heat in when winter comes, point her in the direction of Ebay!

Sounds like your project is very different from ours and that you're doing a lot yourselves. I'm afraid we've been getting the builders in for all but the basic decorating.

Sounds like a very interesting project RM. MSE's very own grand designs! My time on MSE has ruined my sense of adventure and made me afraid of the financial unknown, so I would never have the bottle to do anything like this myself. Will just have to continue to read your diary and live vicariously through you!

Best of luck with trying to prise those curtains out of the Mrs' hands....

    Hi RM

Great pictures and I look forward to seeing more of them. Are you and Mrs RM speaking yet?

I know this won't make you feel any better but I remember spending £1500 in 1998 for curtains for only two windows. I remember telling myself that because of the 14 foot drop and the fact that the windows were unusual (it was a factory conversion) that they were worth it. Of course I knew that it was a hell of a lot to pay but us women can convince ourselves of many things when we like the product :rotfl:That said I can confirm that 12 years on those curtains are still going strong!

    Yowser re the boiler!

And as for Quidco, I lost my rag with them! They p!ssed me about for about four months over my cashback. One excuse after another as to why it wasn't paid. Won't bother again, certainly not for a small sum. Luckily the £100 cashback on my dual fuel switch made up for it!

    Hi RM

good luck with your mission, I have a similar purpose very soon as we hope to move into our new purchase in Oct

one question occured to me looking at your 1st and 2nd posts - what mortgage deal have you got? looks like you are I/O? what was the rationale for that?

    Good luck
