That's what I like about here too, everyone giving their time even though their going through such a difficult and emotional journey as well.

Do keep telling us how you are and remember no question is ever too 'silly' to ask, and does stop the stress building up lol x

As wishes has already said - this is why we are all here. We have days when we feel there is no end in sight, then a cheerful word from somone on here, or someone telling you how they got out of a pickle they were in, you suddenly realise - o yep there is a light after all.

The main feeling I got from coming on here was that I wasn't alone

  • Sorry to hear about your difficulties. If you are receiving support via a community mental health team (CMHT), it is possible that they have links with an agency such as Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB). Many CMHTs actually have representatives from such agencies, who attend the CMHT on a regular basis and can meet with you there. The rep will complete all the paperwork with you and will be with you throughout, to provide support. That, at least, has been my experience (I work in mental health services). If you talk to your psychiatrist, CPN or social worker, they should be able to help you with this.

Thanks Catastrophe - because of the low moods - a "crisis team" is being organised for me.

I know they probably can't and it would be unfair to ask them to get answers for debts.

But thankfully, and really I can't tell you just how much it means to me - everyone here is giving me the support I need.

I know you have all been through or are going through your own problems.

But my goodness to find such caring people makes such a difference.

There are times when we can all get a bit get "down" (me and catastrophe were just unlucky and got it a lot worse).

But to have you all here - when you help everyone that needs it - always in a compassionate and non judgemental way.

And the great relief for me is - you don't mind if anyone is suffering from mental health problems - in fact you give them even more compassion.

    Again my sincere thanks.

Just read your previous post about the 'Crisis Team'. This is precisely why the Crisis Team is there for you. They are not just there to administer medication and listen to your issues. They are there to be proactive in reducing the stressors that are likely to exacerbate your symptoms. Do not be afraid to ask for help of any kind, if it is going to help to alleviate some of your symptoms.
  • Hi

I have recently become BR and the whole process and experience was vastly helped by a charity called Christians Against Poverty! I was not a christian and there is no requirement on that level at all - they are happy to help everyone!! I too was very depressed, infact suicidal due to my debts and CAP have turned all that around. Take heart there is a lot of support out there!! They even helped me cover some bills until I could manage again. Good luck and hope this is of some help!!

    Hey Depression,

How you doing this evening? Hope despite everything you were able to enjoy some of the lovely weather over the weekend?

Just thought Id let you know about this:

    http://www.moneyadvicetrust.org/section.asp?sid=12

    http://www.moneyadvicetrust.org/content.asp?cid=88

I didn't end up using the forms, my CAB had never heared of it, and I was well into the process before I found these, but it may just be worth having a look over, maybe with your crisis team/ your local CAB/ GP.

I myself would have grave reservations about giving creditors in depth information about my meds, psych health and so on,they more than likely wouldn't care/ would't read them anyway, but have a look see...

    Take Care

    Hi Catastrophe,

    Thanks so much for asking.

The weekend was a mix of ups and downs - but the good weather did help.

Thanks for the links - these are very useful.

I'm due to see one of the "crisis team" soon - and yes I'm sure the creditors will care less about my medical condition.I just need to try and get them to "understand" that I will sort things out via bankruptcy.

Hopefully when they see they will get some kind of a dividend from the sale of the house - it might pacify them a bit. I just need to ask them for time so I can be in a position to go through it. If I could I would do it all right now.

In the meantime if they come after me with "attack dogs" - well I'll just need to manage as best I can.

But the good news is I can get all the help from everyone here.
