Cost of moving gas supply

Hello

I am re-designing my kitchen. I have gas central heating and was told when I looked at the house that there was gas in the ktichen. As it turns out, the gas pipe does run from the garage (where the boiler is located) into the kitchn, but stops somewhere ridiculously incovenient for putting the oven. Also, on the basis of some other shoddy work, I'm not 100% convinced that this was done safely/legally!

How much will it cost to move the the supply about 3 metres? (I know I have to use a CORGI engineer).

Thanks

I had a gas safe engineer here yesterday moving or rather extending the gas pipe around the room by about 3-4 metres and he charged £20 for that, he will be back for second fix when the kitchen is in to fix the gas hob to the supply which will be an additional cost. I'm in SE Wales and the gas fitter is known to my builder who is doing the rest if the kitchen work

You were very lucky. He must have been crazy. I wouldnt have got out of my van for that !

It might help if the OP indicated their location.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

which is all well and good but how would people that only need small jobs done like that supposed to legally and properly have a small job like that done if all gas fitters said the same as you? Genuine question

they either save up and pay the going rate. or they do the job diy or a cheap handyman.
both which maybe illegal and unsafe.

It's Gas Safe not CORGI these days.

£20 isn't realistic for a job of that type. I had gas pipe capped and the boiler serviced on a summer service offer for £60 and that was a reduced rate as it's quiet for engineers mid summer.

Guesstimate - £60 to £90 but depends how accessible it all is and time it would take to extend the supply as a result.

    Thanks Tucker.
Anyone else with a guesstimate? If it's under £100 may consider getting it done this summer although rest of kitchen won't be done til the end of the year.

20/25quid per meter plus call out fee should be the going rate for your area.

Its hard to price without a survey and everyone always knows someone who had the work done cheaper :D

It depends on the number of bends/joins etc required to reach the desired outcome
