ipod vidoe logic board problem

Was replacing the battery for my 5thgen video ipod.... while unhooking the battery cable by lifting the brown clip up ... the whole connector came off and took one of the five pin that was attached to the logic board with it ... The pin that got pulled out was the 3rd pin in .... I connected everything back to their original places and power on the ipod with no problem ...
So I wondered what the 3rd pin does in the battery connector?
