Anyone know anything about Playstation Network?

Hi, my OH has registered for PSN. He has just gone to log in on PS3 (second hand). The original owner's email address is in the sign in ID box so he deleted that and added his own and then the password. It then said "you cannot sign in using another users sign in ID". Anyone know what to do as it's the first time we've tried to use it.

Thanks very much

Create a new PS3 account (scroll to the top of the users section on the PS3 XMB) then set up the PSN account and try signing in via the newly created PS3 account

you may need to update the console's firmware before you can sign into PSN (settings > system update) successfully
