Hi Guys,
So I have some xvid files that I want to stick on my iPad/iPhone. Tried converting to mp4 using some random free app but as predicted the end result had out of sync audio (baaad).
I have a pretty powerful laptop (a new XPS 16.. highest core 2 duo spec with 4gb of ram) and left it running overnight so I think the App had more to do with it than the laptop... also the xvids play in sync fine...
Any recommendations on software to use that will perform a much cleaner conversion?! IT seemed the app i used buffered them all and did them all in one batch causing the issue to worsen oddly enough
(the interface froze until the final one had finished from the first one showing it was all in one thread oddly)!
Thanks!!

I like WinAVI, but you have to buy it (clicky).
I typed "AVI to MP4 converter" into Google on a UK only search and the top result seemed to be for a new prog (clicky2). Have no idea whether it works or not!!

I'm not up on such things but I have used,
http://www.iwisoft.com/videoconverter/
It converts lots of different formats, a quick look at the many file types looks optimistic, but I could be wrong.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

Sorry!! WinAVI works well, but does leave a black edge round everything if you get the video size wrong. Sound and picture quality is good and it does sync the sound well.
I tend to find that a 700Mb Divx can go down to 500Mb because of the reduced screen resolution, but let's face it; you're watching it on an iPod so you don't mind - Just don't try to play it on a TV with an iPod dock and expect a fantastic picture!!In the beginning, the universe was created.
