Car Insurance co wants to keep credit card details

Has anyone else had their car or house insurance automatically renewed on expiry? As my daughter is out of work I have paid her car insurance.I insisted that the insurance company do not keep my card details on file as I don't want them to take next year's premium without my prior agreement.
They have issued the policy but are now insisting they have my credit card details on file ...as they need it in case any admin charges arise.Do I have to agree to this?
How should I respond to them now?

    Go to another insurance company.

    Just watch out next year, it will probably be on an auto renewal and she will get
    some correspondence before this.
    Easiest thing to do is let it go through this time and then tell your cc company
    that you have lost your card. No one would be able to use it at all ever again.
    make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
    and we will never, ever return.

    Ll you have to do is a month or more before the policy is due to end call them and say you would like to cancel the policy on whatever date it ends
