This has made me chuckle!
For a few years now I have been growing fruit and veg, but in the last 12 months we've just got our first proper garden. I know literally nothing about flowers and plants unless you can eat them.
The garden was hideously overgrown so we've dug the whole lot out and we're building new retaining walls etc and completely renovating it.
Anyway, as I've been pottering around, I've kept finding little plants that look quite strong and healthy, so I've been potting them all up and keeping them together in one corner. I've got quite a collection now. I have no idea what most of them are (most likely unwanted weeds) but once they get a bit bigger, I'll ask for advice. I've got antirhinums, aquilegia and pansies seeded from parent plants and a sycamore sapling, several baby rose bushes and a conker tree!
My family and friends are making fun of me for doing it, but I'll have the last laugh when I have an array of plants and trees!
Good to know it's not just me that does this!
Oh, and sorry, don't have a clue what you little 'plants' are!0 -

lol, no problem. Thanks for your story though :beer:0 -
Could it be Good King Henry? I know that has similar triangular shaped leaves. It's a weed-!!!-herb and some people cultivate it as a spinach alternative.0

Have you tried rubbing/crushing the leaves to detect any aroma ? I don't know what it is though it does remind me of a plant I saw James Wong show on his plants for medicinal purposes prog. on bbc2 a few weeks back. I think the common name was Vietnamese Mint.0

I say, bung it in a bit of soil or in a pot and see what it develops in to. The manicured nail comment was hilarious! Your nails look much nicer than mine and i'm a girl!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Looks like fat hen to me... aka white goosefoot... I get a lot of it on my allotment.
It's edible, but as it grows everywhere (parks, verges etc.) I don't see any value in growing it as a crop myself.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
Thanks guys for your compliments on my finger nail lol...
I've just gone out and picked one to crush/rub to find it's odorless. If i remember ahead tomorrow i'll take a team photo, showing you what they look like amongst my young grass
