Cold callers claiming to help get back missold PPI

_pale_Hi Hopefully someone will have an answer for this one. Had a call from First Claims Direct asking me if I had ever been missold PPI, I admitted I had, twice, however they told me that my existing fixed rate loan which I took out in 2006 and without PPI for 20,000 plus 8,000 interest, had hidden PPI in the interest and that I should not be paying that rate of interest and that I could claim something in the region of 3000.00 back. They wanted a fee up front of £290.00, which I declined. Has anyone else heard of this, I'd rather make the claim myself if its genuine. Warning also they were reluctant to send me info in the post, offering a web address instead which I couldn't seem to find. They also think I must be daft if I was going to give my card details over the phone.

Please help :o

please dont go with any company, you can do it for the price of a couple of stamps, and you keep all of your win these companys take a hefty wack when you win, they cannot do any more than you can do yourself, put a claim in,please do it your self, you will get all the help you need on here just ask (by the way, you have just given the company a free advert !!)

Their phone number is a possible "telepest" according to this site.

I would steer clear of any claims company.

The people calling you might be from the company First Claims Direct Ltd (company no. 07100831), although Debt Survival UK is also part of the Fields Group of companies. Contact Adam Hawas, mob. no. is 07827331440
The director of this company is called Daryl Hamilton Wallis, director of companies like quickiedivorce, Tribunal Action and Fields Data Recovery also listed on this forum.
PM me if you think you were ripped off.

• This "Lifestyle Money company" phoned me on Friday 20th Jan (a guy called Corey) initially the call was pleasant and reassuring. I was advised about theit link to the MOJ and that as a result due to this link and the reason I was due a large cash lump sum, it entitled them to cold call me. I was also advised and reassured this company was legitimate because they we phoning on a number I could contact them back on and not a with-held number.
They reassured me enough and told me athat I would recieve likely anywhere from £6,000 to £12,000. They obviously already new information about me, as they were aware of my previous old home address and what credit cards I held. They then went on to ask about how long I had had each card, how much I owed on each and the credit limit on each. I get transferred to another guy who I'm told is a "financial advisor", and he sweet talks me somemore and adds more pressure.
They managed through ever building pressure / enthusiasm to gleam from me, my new home address to post there forms to, my credit limits and what I owed, the phone number for MBNA customer services and the expirey date and name on my MBNA card.
Then they start telling me about the cost up front of £299+vat that I would need to pay. I advised that I wanted to research this company before I part with any money, this gets the guys back up and he states the above, try to reassure me of the authenticity of this 'company'. I again advise regardless I want to research it. He then states 'whatever, you won't phone me back, and if you do, i'll eat my hat"! I researched the company and found this forum, which started ringing alarm bells. I then phoned the guy back and stated "are you eating you hat"? He then apologised, but I then told him the previous names this company has been known by before going into liquidation. He denied knowing the names, stated every person on this forum is a disgruntled employee, and that Martin Lewis is crap and doesn't have a clue. I told him I believed this website over him and his 'company', he then shouted IDIOT! at me and slammed the phone down.

Not very professional and definitely keep well away!

I'm just hoping the information they managed to gleam from me isn't enough to fraudulently take money from me.

For the record, I am not an ex-employee and I am a real financial adviser. Not a fake one acting unlawfully by referring to themselves as such (they are not regulated by the FSA and referring to themselves as a financial adviser is unlawful)

Martin is actually very easy going on claims companies which is very much a surprise when you consider how many people are getting ripped off by them every day.

Well done on avoiding them.
