Hit and run on a parked vehicle
Options
Hi,
I'm after some advise...
My car has been hit by another driver whilst at work, and they have done a runner. It was parked on the road but, in a parking space alloted to my work.
There is damage to the front wing (paint damage - heavy scuffing) and also a nasty dint in the wheel arch.
I don't know who has hit me, although I suspect I know where the offenders car will be parked (Residential carpark near by)
I only realised the damage once I returned home, I've taken images of the damage and sent round for a few quotes (from £240-400 )
I will be looking tomorrow for anysigns of paint transfer / damage to the offenders car and will capture images of it if found.
There is one potential security camera that may have caught the incident, although it's on a derelict building
Is there anypoint in contacting the police?
Any help would be appreciated.

Contact the police and tell them what's happened.
If the offender gets caught, then failure to stop after an accident is a criminal offence. That's my mutt in the picture above.0 -
Thanks Quinny,
Contacted the police - filed a report. They said unless they own up, or the cctv comes through then there's not much they can do.
Fingers crossed! :undecided0 -
Do you have a crime number for it. You will need it if you are going through your insurance.
Ive just had mine scuffed in the same place, down to the metal. Luckily someone saw it
and i chased the tractor up the road till he stopped. He admitted full liability luckily,
so everything is going through the insurance.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
